Maggie’s 60th Birthday.

As it was my wife Mags 60th Birthday, I just can’t believe it either! I had made an album of photos for Facebook and was up at 4 uploading them and what lovely pics they are too, well worth a look just for the giggle factor! We had planned to get up early to see the sunrise and take our breakfast to Levington Marina but when we woke up around six it looked pretty cloudy:( Still we decided to go anyway and soon made a flask and took a couple of nut bars leaving home at 6.30. Reaching the cliff top at the end of our road with sea views because of the cloud we were in time for a very lovely sunrise with the sky purple:) Down on the prom, which was quite busy considering how early it is we watched the big red ball of sun appear, just stunning:) Then we bumped into a parent of some children we used to childmind and stopped to talk for half an hour, he has just had a lucky escape after a bad stock car accident, lucky not to break his back! We continue to the Fludgers with the usual over night campervans and several open water swimmers. We then head inland to Gulpher Lane and onto Trimley where we hoped to cross the big green bridge but the slopes were closed for worth so we detoured back to Grimston Lane across the fields to Levington Marina ending up at our bench by the entrance and it was raining lightly! Luckily it stopped as we enjoyed our cuppa while watching the birds feeding in the mud and several yachts headed out, the highlight being a kingfisher came whizzing past, always great to see. We then spent an hour just enjoying the view while Mag looked at the 60 pics for 60 years I had put on Facebook and replying to her many Birthday Wishes:) Then back past Loompit Lake with loads of swans, ducks and geese before continuing along our tree lined route home, no deer again today but we spotted a hare and stopped to watch a huge machine harvesting potatoes:) Then back through Felixstowe dock, along the prom and home after having been out for nearly 5 hours covering nearly 17 miles! I couldn’t be bothered to do my exercises so had lunch while watching the wildlife in the back garden. I then get a message from foiling partner Andy Mexome saying he was heading to The Manor for a foil so headed down at 3 while Mag walked up the town.
